Lyric Opera lectures continue with ‘Aida’

The Oak Park Public Library and the River Forest Public Library have joined together to offer local patrons the complete Lyric Opera Lecture Series of eight programs.
The next lecture will be ”Aida” by Guiseppe Verdi at the River Forest Public Library, 735 Lathrop, on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m.
This season, four Lyric Opera lectures will have been presented at Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street, and four Lyric Opera lectures will have been presented at the River Forest Public Library, 735 Lathrop. The lectures are free and open to the public. All lectures have been scheduled to precede opening night performances at the Lyric Opera.
The remaining schedule for the Lyric Opera Lecture Series:
• Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m.: “Aida” by Guiseppe Verdi at River Forest Public Library.
• Sunday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m.: “Showboat” with music by Jerome Kern based on the novel, “Show Boat” by Edna Ferber at Oak Park Public Library
• Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m.: “Rinaldo” by George Frideric Handel at River Forest Public Library.
