‘Empty Bowls’ benefits hunger relief Feb. 24

Updated: March 24, 2012 8:39AM

The annual “Empty Bowls Community Dinner” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Oak Park-River Forest High School, 201 N. Scoville Ave., in Oak Park, in the south cafeteria.

Bowls made by student and local potters will be sold for $15 ($10 for students) and will be filled with soup donated by local restaurants and businesses.

“Empty Bowls” raises money for Global Alliance for Africa, PADS and the Oak Park-River Forest Food Pantry. All funds go directly to support these organizations.

If you’d like to volunteer for the event, e-mail Paula at paula@oprffoodpantry.org.
