River Forest police blotter for Sept. 17

The following incidents were listed in the reports of the River Forest Police Department. Readers are reminded that individuals who are charged are innocent until proven guilty. Court appearances are in Maybrook Court in Maywood unless otherwise noted.
BURGLARY
A resident of the 700 block of Bonnie Brae Place reported at 3:27 p.m. Sept. 16 that coins and a Garmin GPS were removed from an unlocked vehicle.
Coins, gloves and an iPod were stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a home on the 700 block of Bonnie Brae Place between 11 p.m. Sept. 15 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 16. A specialized bicycle and a bike computer were also stolen from the unlocked garage.
Aaron R. Brooks, 20, of 2839 W. Fillmore St. in Chicago was arrested at 10:50 a.m. Sept. 12 and charged with felony residential burglary, resisting arrest and parole violations. Jewelry, a laptop, an iPhone and other items were allegedly taken from a resident of the 800 block of Monroe Avenue. Value was estimated in excess of $5,000.
THEFT
Martin J. Wallace, 52, of 535 Lodge Lane in Lombard was arrested at 6:18 p.m. Sept. 14 and charged with retail theft. Wallace allegedly tried to take a 12-pack container of beer from Whole Foods Market, 7245 Lake St.
A Segway personal transportation device was reported stolen at 11:18 a.m. Sept. 10 from a home on the 1000 block of Harlem Avenue. Officers reviewed video surveillance and determined two men appearing to be scrap collectors took it. The loss was estimated at $6,000.
DRUGS
Zachary J. Neseman, 33, of 1701 W. Diversey Parkway in Chicago was arrested at 1:10 p.m. Sept. 11 and charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, unlawful use of vehicle registration, driving a motor vehicle without insurance and operating a motor vehicle with expired registration. Police allegedly found bags containing 2.2 grams of a substance that field-tested positive for marijuana in his vehicle. He was released on a recognizance bond.
