River Forest police blotter for Aug. 27

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the River Forest Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

River Forest

THEFT

Viola Y. Martinez, 61, of 1819 N. 24th St., Melrose Park, was arrested at 4:25 p.m. Aug. 23 on the 7200 block of Lake Street and charged with retail theft. She was detained at Whole Foods for allegedly shoplifting. Her court date is Aug. 30.

ALCOHOL

Michael P. Schmidt, 46, of 3741 N. Nordica Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 12:45 a.m. Aug. 25 in the area of North and Lathrop avenues and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol. His court date is Sept. 21.

A 17-year-old Oak Park resident was arrested at 9:18 p.m. Aug. 21 in the area of Thatcher Woods Forest Preserve and charged with underage possession of alcohol. His court date is Oct. 5.
