FOREST PARK — The bright lights and cameras around Long John Silver in Forest Park have people speculating about the fast-food seafood restaurant.
On Monday and Tuesday a film production company was using the restaurant, at 123 N. Harlem Ave., as a backdrop for commercials promoting the franchise.
During shooting the Long John Silver restaurant was closed with the manager, John Mitchell, hanging around to keep an eye on things.
“They did some (filming) inside yesterday and outside today (Aug. 14),” he said. “People think it’s a movie being filmed, but it’s just commercials.”
The Harlem Avenue restaurant is one of the oldest Long John Silvers in the state.
The film production crew could not comment specifically about the project.
Mitchell said he hopes when the commercials run it will mean more business for the Forest Park franchise.
The restaurant resumed normal business on Wednesday.
