River Forest dispatched its plow trucks Friday afternoon and expected to work through the night to have streets cleared by morning.
Deputy Police Chief Craig Rutz said crews working through the night will likely have the streets cleared by 10 a.m., if the expected 4 to 9 inches of snow falls.
“They’ll (Public Works) put out everybody they got,” he said.
A parking ban is in effect on village streets until it stops snowing and plows have finished clearing the roads.
Students at Oak Park-River Forest High School were let out early, at 2 p.m., to avoid any snow-related problems.
District 90 students weren’t as lucky; they completed a full day. But the district canceled all after-school activities.
