Name: Smooch

Species: Dog

Breed: Boxer/Bulldog

Color: White w/Brown

Gender: Female

Age: 11 months

Smooch is one of the happiest, wiggliest dogs you’ll ever meet.

Just to see her will make you smile. This is a dog who has a “glass half-full” approach to life!

She arrived at the Animal Care League as a transfer from a city shelter after she had been turned in by her owners who said they didn’t have the time for her. As a result, Smooch hasn’t had training of any sort … but she’s willing to learn! She loves every single person she meets. Smooch might not be the smartest dog on the planet, but she’s one of the sweetest. Smooch is looking for a home with an owner who leads an active life that includes her. She also wants someone who can give her the time to learn all the things she missed out on in her first home. Smooch doesn’t need an owner with a heavy hand, she had that already, and it wasn’t very successful. She does play nicely with some dogs, others she would prefer not to know. In her new home, she would prefer to be a one and only dog and get all the love and attention. If you think Smooch sounds like your kind of dog, meet her. Due to her activity level and jumpiness, Smooch is recommended for homes with children older than age 10.

To adopt a featured pet or to learn more, call the Animal Care League at (708) 848-8155; visit the shelter at 1011 Garfield St., Oak Park; or email animalcare@ameritech.net. Information is available online at www.animalcareleague.org.

People who love their pets get identification tags for them. It’s the right thing to do and it’s a law.

If you lose a pet or find someone else’s, call Pioneer Press at (847) 998-3400 to put a free, lost and found ad in Classifieds.
