Oak Park Area Arts Council benefit set for Feb. 25

A painting by Cheri Salerno will be one of the pieces in Artful Object 2012, the Oak Park Area Arts Council’s annual fundraiser, which begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, in the AGLS Building, 222 Lake St., Oak Park. This year’s theme, Art in the Time of Revitalization celebrates the power of the arts to create spaces that enhance our vision of what it means to be human during times of reflection and regeneration. Artwork in a variety of media will be on display for the evening as part of the silent auction. Entertainment and good food are also part of the festive evening. All proeceeds from the event benefit the Arts Council’s Fine Arts Scholarship program and Off the Wall-summer teen arts employment program.
